There are countless great ideas out there, and many of them right here in the Fraser Valley.

TEDxChilliwack has brought together a shortlist of 36 applicants for their main event, taking place on April 14. They’ll now each have to take to the stage for one of three Applicant Showcase Nights, taking place at Cottonwood 4 Cinemas. They will deliver a short “concept” pitch to the panel of judges and the audience.

The nights are Jan. 18, 25 and Feb. 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and each night up to four applicants from a roster of 13 will be selected for the final event. The audience does help in choosing the final speakers, and those speakers will have up until April to work with their coaches to fine tune their speaking skills. This is the third TEDxChilliwack, This year’s theme, Reboot, goes back to the original theme of the TED talks, technology, entertainment and design.
