The stockings have been filled, delivered and enjoyed.

The Chilliwack and District Seniors Resources Society (CDSRS) coordinated the delivery of 145 stocking for local seniors earlier this week. They were donated by a Chilliwack real estate team with the help of their sponsors, along with donations.

“We would like to thank Royal LePage Wheeler Cheam Realty and all our community members for their generous donations,” the CDSRS wrote on their Facebook page, along with fun photos of their deliveries and volunteers. The staff there had worked hard to fill the stockings, collecting items and raising more than $3,000 for the initiative.

Altogether, more than $5,000 was raised and 250 stockings were filled this Christmas for their Royal LePage annual stocking drive. About 100 of those stockings went to youth in the community via Chilliwack Community Services. On their end, the event was put together by Karyn Scott, Betty Champ and Jeanette Emery.

“A huge thank you to all our agents, all the local companies and the public who donated money to help fill stockings, Royal LePage wrote on their Facebook page. “It’s been a tough year for a lot of people and these stockings will bring much of joy.”
