Tuesday, Dec. 17 • Season’s Eatings for Tweens and Teens: Join us for Starbucks hot chocolate, decorate sugar cookies and guess how many Christmas candies in the jar (to win!). Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and we will make you a digital Christmas card with our green screen. This program is for teens and tweens ages 12 to 18. Thursday, Dec. 19 • The Great Christmas Rescue: Join us for an interactive story adventure to rescue Santa and save Christmas. Bring your imagination and your heroic spirit, everything else will be provided. Registration required, please contact the library at to register. Sardis Library, Thursday, Dec. 19: 3 p.m. is for six- to eight-year-olds; 4 p.m. is for nine- to 11-year-olds.

Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22 • The Chilliwack Islamic Centre is collecting Christmas items and non-perishable food for Ruth and Naomi’s Mission. People can drop items off at the mosque located at 45845 Yale Rd. on Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday Dec. 21 • Drop-in Christmas Crafts: Come with the whole family and use our supplies to make creative and festive crafts. Chilliwack Library, Saturday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Now to Dec. 21 • The Royal Hotel is collecting new mittens and gloves from now until Dec. 21. Not only will they warm the hands of those in need in our community, they will add to the festive décor and will adorn the 12 foot lobby Christmas tree before they are handed over to Chilliwack Community Services. You can drop them off in the lobby of the hotel located at 45886 Wellington Ave.
Now to Saturday, Dec. 28 • Members of the Chilliwack Visual Artists Association are giving a new life to items that most people would likely toss in the trash or recycle bin. The group’s newest show, Upscale Art, features work made from found, collected and recycled items. The exhibition runs Nov. 20 to Dec. 28 in the O’Connor Group Art Gallery at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Admission is free. Gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.
Now to April 18, 2020 • The Chilliwack Museum and Archives will be unveiling its latest exhibition Five Faces, Five Corners: The Social Experience of Chilliwack’s Downtown. “This exhibition explores the evolving social landscape of Chilliwack’s Five Corners area,” said Anna Irwin, curator at the Chilliwack Museum and Archives. “It really is a fitting time to showcase this area as the downtown redevelopment project proceeds, it all ties together nicely.” The exhibition runs until April 18, 2020 at the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Ave.).

Book Clubs: Join in for lively discussions of selected titles. Chosen books will change monthly and copies are provided by the library. New members are welcome to join at any time. Book clubs take place at the Chilliwack Library and Yarrow Library. Go to fvrl.bc.ca for more info.
Lego Club: We have the LEGO, you bring your imagination. LEGO club is a fun time for kids so come on in and join us. Chilliwack Library, Wednesdays, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Yarrow Library: Tuesday, June 11, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. (please register at the desk upon arrival).
At the Chilliwack Stroke Recovery Program, stroke survivors participate in exercises, communication practice, and educational opportunities, and enjoy social interaction and peer support. The program takes place every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Evergreen Hall. They are also looking for volunteers.
Alateen is a recovery group for adolescents ages 9–19 that helps children and teenagers who are relatives or friends of alcoholics cope with the issues of alcoholism that are affecting their lives in some way.
