River cleanup Saturday on the Chilliwack-Vedder system

The next volunteer-run cleanup of the Chilliwack/Vedder River system is slated for Saturday

The next volunteer cleanup of the Chilliwack/Vedder River system is slated for Saturday, April 18 at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.

It's the 44th cleanup of its kind organized into a family-oriented community event by the cleanup coalition over the years.

"We are however cutting back from three to two cleanups on a trial basis this year."

Registrations starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Nature reserve at 5200 Sumas Prairie Rd.

Volunteers should to wear weather appropriate footwear and clothing to the "rain or shine" cleanup - and bring a refillable water bottle, too.
