Fundraising goal surpassed as cycling event brings in more than $50,000 for Chilliwack charity

A cycling fundraiser for Ruth and Naomi’s (RAN) raked in a record-breaking amount of money recently.

The fifth annual Ride 4 RAN rolled through Chilliwack on Sept. 18 and participants brought in $67,000, surpassing their goal of $50,000.

“The event was a tremendous success,” said Cheryl Giesbrecht, RAN executive assistant.

More than 100 cyclists took part in the event which featured three different routes: 25-kilometre, 50-kilometre and 100-kilometre.

Money raised from Ride 4 RAN will go towards the essential services that RAN Mission offers the community. RAN supports individuals and families in Chilliwack who are struggling through poverty, homelessness and addiction.
