Hundreds of people and their dogs took part in the Mt. Cheam Canine Association’s Dog Show at Chilliwack Heritage Park on the weekend.

The three-day event saw dozens of different breeds compete in the all-breed championship show.

It included conformation (where a judge assesses the shape and structure of the dog), an obedience competition, and rally — a sport where the dog proceeds through a 10- to 20-station course performing different manoeuvres such as heeling, sitting and staying.

Dog shows are a great place to see and learn about different breeds, especially if you’re looking to get a pooch yourself and aren’t sure which is the best dog for you.

The Mt. Cheam Canine Association hosts two dog shows each year, one in February and one in September.

This show goes until Sunday and admission is free.
