The Chilliwack Islamic Centre is holding an Open Mosque Day this weekend.

The public is invited to drop in and learn more about Islamic faith and Muslims, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

Volunteers will be on hand to provide tours through the mosque, and there will be displays of different themes to view. The public is also invited to witness prayers between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The open house, planned by the centre’s Bridging Gaps Foundation, is designed to be laid back and informal, and open to all and family friendly. While there is no dress code in place and women do not need to worry about head coverings, they do ask that visitors dress modestly.

Refreshments will be served.

The Chilliwack Islamic Centre is at B-45845 Yale Rd., above the Preserved Seed Bakery.
