On The Rocks fundraiser mixes curling and scotch tasting

Chilliwack Restorative Justice and Youth Advocacy Association is hosting On The Rocks, a learn-to-curl and scotch-tasting fundraiser

There will be a unique opportunity to learn to curl plus sample some new and interesting scotches.

Chilliwack Restorative Justice and Youth Advocacy Association is hosting fall fundraiser, On The Rocks, a curling and scotch-tasting experience on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Chilliwack Curling Club.

Chilliwack businesses can register a team for the 'battle of the businesses' and win the sponsorship of the Buddy Bench which will be located at a Chilliwack school.

People in the community are also invited to register a team of four members and enter the bonspiel for a chance to win prizes.

There will also be appetizers and entertainment during the evening of the event.

Registration for curling is $200 for a team of four players. Tickets to take part in only the scotch tasting are $75 each. The price to purchase the combo of both curling and scotch tasting is $400 for four people. Chilliwack Restorative Justice and Youth Advocacy Association is a volunteer based non-profit organization aimed at fostering a safe and caring community. The mandate of the organization is to bring youth offenders and victims together in order to discuss criminal incidents and to find ways to repair the harm caused.

Since its inception, in 1998, they have provided restorative services to more than 4,000 individuals and have recovered over $118,500.00 in restitution.
