Some people were surprised to see one of Canada’s most famous newscasters at the Hope Brigade Days in September.

Peter Mansbridge was in town, speaking with residents about life in ‘small-town Canada.’ He traveled to many small towns over a matter of months, in order to create a CBC documentary called The Way You See It.

And that one-hour documentary is premiering tonight (Oct. 18) on CBC (check your cable provider for air times).

AdvantageHOPE’s executive director Shannon Jones worked with the team while they were in Hope, and Mansbridge was set up in Memorial Park to speak to residents on and off camera.

Mansbridge sent out a video note to the people of Hope to thank them for speaking with him, and to remind them to watch the documentary. AdvantageHOPE posted that video on their Facebook page.

Mansbridge says they were “getting a sense of the mood of Canada before the election.”

“It was great to be in Hope, I loved it,” he added.

The Way You See It will also be running on CBC News Network throughout the weekend.
