Private properties along the rolling hills of Ryder Lake will once again be open to the public for viewing in Chilliwack.
The 24th annual Ryder Lake Ramble returns on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This self-guided tour welcomes people to stroll through the private gardens and farms in Ryder Lake, a historic farming community located on the southeast side of Chilliwack.
The day features an eclectic mix of 13 properties spread across the valley with many also hosting local craft vendors. People can see lavender fields, horses grazing in a pasture, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, an English country-style garden, pottery, a hobbit house, and more.
How it works is folks head to Ryder Lake Hall (49265 Elk View Rd.) to purchase a wristband in order to get access to the sites. Admission is by donation with a suggested $10 minimum per person or $20 per family. Maps will also be available at the hall.
This year, food including breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, muffins and refreshments will be available for purchase in collaboration with the Chilliwack Fire Department Charitable society.
There will also be a plant sale at the VPG Nursery venue (47644 Forester Rd.).
The Ryder Lake Ramble is Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No pets allowed. For more information, go to ryderlakeramble.ca.
