Happy Friday for Chilliwack lottery winner

Rosedale man claims Lotto Max prize of nearly $600,000

A Chilliwack man is looking forward to an early retirement after winning nearly $600,000 on last Friday’s Lotto Max draw.

Richard Varsava of Rosedale matched six out of seven numbers, and the bonus number, to win $595,797.30.

The win will allow Varsava to retire and spend more time with his family, doing the things he loves. “I like to go dirt biking, I have three motorcycles – it’s really fun for me.”

Varsava is also looking forward to buying a new car. “Right now our car has a blown engine, so this means we can buy a brand new car and forget about our engine woes,” he said.

Varsava bought the winning ticket in Langley.
