City parks worker Dan Langelaan rescues a duckling at the Landing Leisure Centre on Thursday morning. The mama duck was swimming in a pond outside the Leisure Centre with her 10 ducklings, when nine of them got sucked into a pipe leading to the sewer at about 9:30 in the morning. Leisure Centre members, city staff and SPCA employees spent about two hours rescuing the little feathered friends which were only a couple of weeks old. Eventually, they were all returned to their mother.
