A junk removal company is raising money for the food bank by way of its Christmas tree pickup event.

Fraser Valley Junk Solutions will be collecting real Christmas trees from residences in Chilliwack and Abbotsford as part of its 'Ten Buck Pick Up' program.

In exchange for a minimum donation of $10, they will pick up trees right from residents' homes. All of the money raised will go to the food bank.

Pickup dates are Jan. 3 and 9 in Chilliwack, and Jan. 4 and 10 in Abbotsford. People have to sign up online to arrange pickup.

Once people sign up, they need to leave their Christmas tree outside in an accessible area on the day of pickup, such as in the driveway or next to the front door. This is a cash-only event and the money must be in a bag either attached to the tree or by the front door.

They will not be collecting any fake trees or oversized ones (12 feet or taller).

To sign up, go to fraservalleyjunksolutions.ca.
