Christmas hamper application process starts in Chilliwack

Hampers available for individuals and families who apply before Dec. 12

The application process for Christmas hampers through the Chilliwack Salvation Army begins on Monday, Nov. 30.

Anyone who would like to apply for a hamper needs to do so prior to Dec. 12.

The applications are being accepted at the Salvation Army Care and Share Centre at 45746 Yale Road. Hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. They are also open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There are documents that applicants need to bring with them. That includes proof of income, proof of residence in Chilliwack, picture ID for the applicant, and Care Cards for every member of the household.

There are hampers available for individuals and families, and they will be handed out from Dec. 21 to 23 at the Salvation Army Church at 46420 Brooks Avenue.

NEW: If you would prefer contactless sign up due to COVID or other health concerns you can sign up by phone at the Christmas Central Covid hotline at (604) 991-9498.
