It was one of eight by-donation classes held by the studio last week where 100 per cent of class costs went towards the Canadian Red Cross B.C. Wildfires Appeal. The fundraiser classes included various yoga levels, fitness and a barre workout. A total of $744 was raised from the week-long event. (Jenna Hauck/ The Progress)

Chilliwack has definitely stepped up to help raise funds and much-needed supplies for the victims of B.C.’s wildfires this summer.

For the past several weeks, our community has gathered goods and cash donations for the Canadian Red Cross B.C. Wildfires Appeal, including (pictured here) by-donation yoga and fitness classes, a five-kilometre run/walk, and a by-donation dunk tank.

People wanting to help out, can go to online to the Canadian Red Cross to donate.

People gather for the Wildfire Aid five-kilometre walk/run on Saturday on the Vedder River Rotary Trail. The event raised money for the wildlife relief — all monies donated will go towards items to fill a truck to be taken to evacuation sites where supplies are greatly needed.
