Members of the Chilliwack Common Threads Knitting Group gather Tuesday night at the Sardis Library. The group is making and accepting donations of hand-knit and hand-crocheted items to donate to charity as part of its Christmas Care and Share event.

Members of the Chilliwack Common Threads Knitting Group are inviting people to share the warmth this holiday season by donating hand-knit and hand-crocheted items to those in need.

The group's festive Christmas Care and Share event brings in more than 100 hats, scarves, mitts and cowls for men, women and children every year.

The cozy accessories will be handed out to organizations including the Salvation Army, Ann Davis Transition House and Cyrus Centre.

The group is collecting new knit and crocheted items until Dec. 10.

Drop off locations are: Chilliwack Wool and Craft (45717 Ontario Ave.), The Play Room Toy Shop (45802 Luckakuck Way), and Allenby's Farm and Home Hardware (41924 Yarrow Central Rd.).

People can also donate during the group's year-round weekly knit nights on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sardis Library. Newcomers are always welcome to join them.
