Larry Smithson shoots his black powder rifle in the target shooting event while taking part in the Fraser Valley Frontiersmen Black Powder Club’s Winter Rendezvous at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club on Sunday. The event drew 26 shooters from across B.C. and also featured a tomahawk and knife throw, and a bow and arrow competition. Members of the Frontiersmen club use black powder rifles and pistols which were common around the 1850s near the end of the fur trade.
