Students at Chilliwack Secondary School crocheted baby hats for the maternity ward at Chilliwack General Hospital back in 2021.

The maternity department at Chilliwack General Hospital is putting out the call for baby hats for newborns.

"Chilliwack Hospital Maternity ward would love some of your homemade hats for our babies," according to a recent post.

"Parents appreciate the beautiful and thoughtful hats made by the amazing volunteers all around Chilliwack."

The maternity staff recently posted about getting low on their supply of baby hats for infant boys and girls, but they say they have enough tiny hats for premature babies, known as preemies, at this point.

The baby hats can be in any colour, either knitted or crocheted.
