Black Powder Day at Kilby is full of entertainment each Father's Day.

Still looking for a way to celebrate Father's Day with a bang?

Head over to Black Powder Day at Kilby Historic Site this Sunday.

"We will have the BBQ all fired up, our spurs shined and the wagons circled for our annual Black Powder Day," says Kilby's sales and marketing manager Jo-Anne Leon.

Guests will enjoy live entertainment with a cowboy action show and Sts’ailes First Nations dance group. You can chat with black powder gun enthusiasts or take in archery and knife throwing demonstrations.

For a quieter moment, simply stroll through the Trader’s Row filled with crafts, beadwork, leather work, tack and artifacts. The Fraser Valley Frontiersmen will be on site, along with a Royal Engineers display, wood carvers, and even a taxidermist. Your admission to the event helps preserve this wonderful 1906 general store museum and farm for future generations. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $7 for youth or $24 for families. Children five and under get in free. So will anyone  dressed in olden-day garb. The Seymour Artillery Association will be on hand to shoot off their cannon. Additional shots can be purchased at a suggested donation price of $20.

The Harrison River Restaurant is open daily at 9 a.m. for breakfast. When the site opens at 11 a.m. the full service restaurant will be featuring their regular sandwich menu, and outside on the grounds will be the first BBQ of the season. Events on Sunday run until about 5 p.m. at 215 Kilby Rd.
