Businesses have come and gone in Downtown Chilliwack over the last 18 years.

But one of them has stayed steadfast and true, Marion's Dressing Room, just east of Five Corners on Yale Road.

The little shop with its array of vintage and designer fashion is tucked away in a charming upstairs loft with everything from dresses, jewellery, purses, and shoes, to hats, raincoats and scarves.

Owner Marion Marks says the goal of offering Chilliwack shoppers something interesting to wear has kept loyal customers coming back year after year.

"People want something different, not the same old thing that everyone's wearing." she says. "They're looking for something unique and one-of-a-kind, so I keep an eye out for items that are beautiful and unusual."

She has several displayed in 2,500 sq. ft. space in a historic building. Sometimes local fashonistas will mix it up, pairing an element of vintage wear, with a more modern-day designer piece.

"It becomes something that really reflects their own individual style, not something out of a magazine."
