Chilliwack Heritage Park gets a new marketing look

A strong marketing campaign for Chilliwack Heritage Park is viewed as one of the key ways make it more financially sustainable.

“Events happen here.”

That’s the new marketing tag-line for Chilliwack Heritage Park, designed to go with its sleek, new logo.

“It’s all about projecting a professional image,” said Brian Coombes of Tourism Chilliwack, adding that the fresh materials are part of a larger marketing strategy recently completed for Heritage Park.

“We are going through a tremendous growth curve and we need to move forward.”

A strong marketing campaign for the facility is viewed as one of the key ways make it more financially sustainable.

The thing is that Heritage Park is not just competing for large scale events with other local venues, but also going up against the Tradex in Abbotsford or the Thunderbird in Langley, said Coombes.

“It’s important to make the best impression possible. We thought we needed a more up-to-date logo with a new look and feel, that can show that we are more than cows, corn and barns.”

The old red barn graphic was traded in for a more abstract design, to emphasize the sheer diversity of events that Heritage Park can host, from equestrian or motor cross competitions, to trade fairs and home shows.

The new tag-line, “Events happen here” is a way of underlining the wide range of events they already offer, as well as the ones they hope to attract.

A new billboard visible from Highway 1 in the eastbound lane just before Lickman Road showcases the tag-line, and the new streamlined logo in blue, green and red.

“We didn’t want to focus on any one specific sector. Being able to accommodate so many different types of events really sets us apart from other facilities.”

The new website at will go live early in 2013.
