Bruins trade for toughness

The Chilliwack Bruins have acquired 19-year-old forward Curt Gogol and an eighth round bantam draft pick from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for 18-year-old forward Chris Collins.

The newest Bruin began his Western Hockey League career with the Kelowna Rockets, appearing in 99 regular season games over parts of three seasons before being traded to the Saskatoon Blades at the trade deadline last season. In 58 games with the Blades, Gogol scored two goals and seven assists to go along with 208 penalty minutes.

Prior to this season, Gogol signed an entry level contract with the National Hockey League’s San Jose Sharks.
