Three Chilliwack Chiefs rated by Central Scouting Bureau

A trio of draft-eligible Chiefs are on the National Hockey League radar leading up to next June's entry draft.

Three Chilliwack Chiefs have made the Central Scouting Bureau’s prelimimary rankings of draft eligible skaters.

The list was broken up into three letter grades, A through C. B denotes a potential second or third round pick, and the BCHL has one of those in Vernon Viper Adam Tambellini.

The brother of former Chilliwack Chief Jeff Tambellini is committed to the University of North Dakota in 2013.

The Chiefs start showing up in the C category, which suggests a fourth, fifth or six round pick.

Forwards Luke Esposito and Austin Plevy and D-man Cooper Rush fall into that group, along with seven other skaters and two goaltenders.

Other BCHL players earning a C grade were Dane Birks (Merritt), Dexter Dancs and Wade Murphy (Penticton), Bo Pellah (Langley), Nolan De Jong (Victoria), Luke Ripley (Powell River) and Kevin Guiltinan (Vernon).

The rated goalies are Salmon Arm’s Adam Clark and Penticton’s Chad Katunar.

The 2013 National Hockey League entry draft will be held June 28-29 at the Prudential Centre in New Jersey.
