Chilliwack’s Von Richardson is heading to Ireland in December, and again in March as part of a Rugby Canada touring team.

The GW Graham student was named to the 30-man roster for a U-19 squad that will travel to Northern Ireland and play three fixtures (games) against local development teams between Dec. 29 and Jan. 2.

The Canadians will return to Ireland in March to face the Irish U-19 national side.

“The purpose of the tour is to give the coaches and athletes a great opportunity to assess where we are at going into the March tour, where we will be playing two games against Ireland,” said Canada’s head coach, Dean Murten. ” After the December tour the coaching staff can provide the athletes with a clear individual performance plan, and provide support to the athlete’s preparation for March.”
