Langley golfer James Allenby laps the field at Chilliwack Men’s Open

The Langley Golf Centre pro eagled two holes in Sunday’s final round, firing an 11 under par 61.

Langley’s James Allenby destroyed the rest of the field at the Chilliwack Men’s Open golf tournament, held Saturday and Sunday at the Chilliwack Golf Club.

Allenby holed nine birdies, got around the par-72 course in 63 strokes in round one, then did even better in round two.

Allenby eagled five and 11 and cruised to a 13 stroke win over the second place finisher, Wisconsin native Andy Buege.

Cheam Mountain Golf Course instructor Kevin Stinson was third at six under par, 14 shots behind Allenby.

Ben Groome from The Falls tied for fourth at five under. Other locals in the top 20 included Andrew Smeeth (Cheam, tied ninth), Kaleb Fisher (Cheam, tied 12th), Connor McLellan (Chilliwack, tied 14th), Connor O’Dell (Chilliwack, tied 17th) and Matt Gudmundson (Chilliwack, tied 17th).
