Falcons break through against Lions

In a battle of basketball powerhouses, Sardis beat Yale Monday night in a senior boys game.

The Sardis Falcons earned a big home-court win Monday night, edging the Yale Lions 85-79.

Big man Hayden Lejeune led the way with 25 points.

Cam Servatius matched his production, with senior Grayden North chipping in eight points and stellar defence.

In the five years since Kyle Graves took over as Sardis head coach, this is the first Falcon win over the Abbotsford powerhouse.

His team improved to 2-1 in league play and 16-2 overall.

The Falcons are in Abbotsford this weekend for the Abbotsord secondary school Snowball Tournament. Their next home game is Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. versus the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers.
