Chilliwack’s Mitchell Metcalfe helped his Team Black to bronze at last weekend’s U-15 B.C. Cup tournament in Penticton.

B.C. Hockey welcomed 160 top prospects to the South Okanagan Events Centre where they were split into eight teams for a tournament.

Metcalfe skated on defence, picking up one assist in four games as his team went 2-2.

Team Black topped Team Blue 4-3 in the bronze medal match on Sunday. Team Blue’s roster included two Chilliwackians, goaltender Brayden Melnyk and forward Clay Kurtz.

Melnyk played very well in the tournament. Logging 88 minutes, he stopped 30 off 33 shots with a save percentage of .909 and a goals-against average of 2.22.

Clay Kurtz played forward for Team Blue, going pointless with two penalty minutes in four games.
