Cascade camp for hoops hopefuls

The University of the Fraser Valley is hoping to find new talent at an upcoming identification camp at the Envision Athletic Centre.

The University of the Fraser Valley men’s basketball team will hold an identification camp April 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Envision Athletic Centre in Abbotsford.

Players will be put through specific drill work by the UFV coaching staff, followed by an officiated scrimmage.

Cascade coaches will be evaluating talent, joined by several of their PACWest colleagues.

The cost of the camp is $30 per student-athlete.  Players are asked to bring a reversible jersey, or at minimum a light and a dark shirt. Sign up and payment will be done on arrival (between 10:15  and 11 a.m.)

The Cascades are the defending Canada West silver medalists, ranking fourth in the final CIS top ten poll.

UFV participated in the CIS Final 8 national championship tournament in Halifax, Nova Scotia, finishing fourth.
