Chilliwack Chiefs Alumni Game July 6

Jeff Tambellini and Doug Ast will skate on the same team, and probably the same line at next Friday night’s Chilliwack Chiefs Alumni Game.

Puck drop is 7 p.m., July 6 at Prospera Centre as 51 former Chiefs lace up the skates.

The teams were drafted Tuesday night by a team of all-knowing media sorts.

The Chilliwack Progress/89.5 The Hawk team took Tambellini in the top spot.

The Shaw TV/Star FM/Chilliwack Times team went with Nathan Martz in the second spot and Brandon Fleenor in the third spot.

Ast, a Chilliwack native and the top scorer in Chiefs franchise history, went fourth overall to the Progress/Hawk.

The goalie matchup pits former Northern Michigan University stopper Derek Janzen (26-years-old) versus current Chiefs goaltender coach Rob Bruni (42-years-old) in a battle of youth versus experience.

Tickets for the game are $5 apiece.

There are also a handful of spots still available for Saturday’s Alumni Golf Tournament, at a cost of $75 per person.

For more info on either event, phone the Chiefs office at 604-392-4433.
