Crusader crew overcomes inexperience
The Crusaders dragon boat team cruised to a fifth place finish in the A division last Saturday at the Dragonzone 500m regatta, held on the waters of False Creek Village Centre.
The team’s performance was remarkable given the inexperience of the crew. The Crusaders entered the regatta with eight first-year paddlers, two who hadn’t practised this year and two who had no experience whatsoever.
The Crusaders are now preparing for the 24th annual Rio Tinto Alcan Dragonboat Festival, taking place June 16-17 at False Creek in Vancouver.
