Cascades edged by Spartans
Chilliwack’s Jordan Tipton scored midway through the first half, but it wasn’t enough as his University of the Fraser Valley men’s soccer squad fell 2-1 to the Trinity Western University Spartans Sunday.
The game was played at Abbotsford’s Bateman Park.
The Spartans led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Langley native Daniel Lowen.
Tipton’s goal knotted things at 1-1 until North Delta’s Shawn Parkas scored the game winner with five minutes remaining.
UFV’s record fell to 1-8-1, good for four points in the Canada West standings.
The Spartans improved to 5-3-2, with 17 points.
