Public deserves a vote on chlorination issue

I am only 15 years old, but I can honestly say that I would rather keep our water clean and pure with the small chance of bacteria getting into the water supply, than be poisoned everyday by chlorine.

Chlorine is a poison. You can smell it and taste it in the water. Chlorine by-products increase your risk of cancer. Fraser Health is just doing their job, but the citizens of Chilliwack should get a vote on whether to add chlorine to our water or not.

Even just the chlorine that was added to our water to flush out Greendale’s E.coli was enough to reinforce my opinion that chlorine should not be added to Chilliwack’s water.

The people have spoken and now it’s time for our government to give us the chance to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to chlorine.
