(Bill) W.

William Veer passed away early Saturday morning, December 5th, 2009. William was born in Hague, Saskatchewan on May 29th, 1929. He is survived by his loving wife Edith of 59 years, daughters Judy (Frank Hoppe), Jacquie, son Terry (Carol) and daughter Glenda (Kevin Campbell), eight grandchildren, six great-grandsons, his brother Henry (Margaret) Veer, his sister Agnes (Roland) Jescke, and his sister-in-law Jean Veer.

William taught school in and around Saskatoon from 1950 to 1969, and then moved his family to Chilliwack, B.C. where he taught at Sardis Secondary, A.D. Rundle and finally Chilliwack Senior Secondary until his retirement in 1993.

We will remember him as someone who continually sought knowledge and had a passion for passing that knowledge on. He was also very active in his church and community where he was involved in many board positions and taught Sunday school right up to the last few months. He was a man of God and a servant of his savior Jesus Christ. His family was also a passion and his grand and great-grandchildren provided him with much joy. We will also remember the many years of camping together as a family. We will miss him immensely.

A Viewing for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack. A family interment will be held Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. from the Chilliwack Cemetery. A Memorial Service will follow at the Broadway M.B.
