Born August 31, 1930 in Elgin, Manitoba, passed away May 22, 2009 at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack, B.C.
Survived by wife Pat, daughter, Sharon (Keith) Martin; son Keith (Wella) Hanna; stepson, Brian (Maria) Card; stepdaughter, Sharon (Glenn) Iles; grandchildren: Lisa (Albert), Aimee, Hilary, Brett, Shane, Grant; and great-granddaughter, Brielle. Also survived by brothers: Sam (Evelyn), George, Russ (Lynne) and by sisters: Eleanor (Bill) Spence, May Gillis, Doreen (Jim) Wishart, Kay (Doug) Johnson and their loving families.
As a parent he found time to volunteer coaching hockey and lacrosse.
Bill retired in 1989 after 40 years with Fraser Mills. Up until his recent hospitalization, Bill could always be counted on to ‘fix anything’. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many sporting activities, and travelling and camping with family and friends. Bill was also a member of FOE 2831, Maple Ridge.
Heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for Bill in New Westminster, Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Memorial service: 1:30 pm Friday, May 29, 2009 at Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 23461 Fern Crescent, Maple Ridge, B.C.
