William Raymond (Ray) Marlatt was born on Jan. 7, 1922 at Lashburn, Saskatchewan, son of Huron and Annie Marlatt and passed away on Nov. 19, 2007 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Vernon, B.C. at the age of 85 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by “his kids,” Brenda and Dave Lorencz of Calgary, AB; his very special friend and companion, Elsie Mackwood of Vernon, BC and her family; two sisters, Maxine (Ron) Phillips of Edmonton, AB, and Mavis (Ernie) Underwood of Ingersoll, ON; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elsie on April 8, 1999; two daughters: Lynn in 1952 and Margaret in 1956; and one brother, Leonard.

Ray’s chosen profession was that of being a school teacher and he taught in Enderby, Duncan and Chilliwack and their respective areas, then retiring to Armstrong in 1978.

In 1989 he moved into Vernon where he remained until his death.

Interment of Ray’s cremated remains in the family plot at Cliffside Cemetery in Enderby, BC will precede a Celebration Of Ray’s Life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating.

A reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
