William Pat Charlie passed away on Friday, April 23, 2004 at Fraser Canyon Hospital at age 78 years. He was born on September 2, 1926 in Sardis, BC.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years Sophie Charlie; brother, Gilbert (Frances) Pat, sister, Mary Clara; son, Ronald W. Charlie (Annette Charlie), daughter, Margaret Williams (Bill Williams), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and the Williams and Mussell families of Chilliwack.
Bill’s mother, Martha Pat, father, George Pat, daughter, Rosetta Williams, grandsons, Eddie, Billy, Walter and Norman, sisters, Annastasia, Mabel, Margaret, Susie and brother Wilfred predeceased him.
Bill was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all of his family.
Bill started as a logger when he was just 14 years of age. He logged in both Canada and the USA for nearly 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and playing guitar and singing with several different bands. Bill was a faithful member of the Catholic Church.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 7 pm at the family home, 61235 Lougheed Hwy, Hope, B.C. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 10 am from Chawathil Sacred Heart Church, Chawathil, BC, with Father Gerry Guillet officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Chawathil Cemetery.
