(Bill)
Bill, a loving husband & father, went peacefully to his heavenly home on November 23, 2010. He was born on September 11, 1915 to Safren and Matilda Neetz in Morris, Manitoba.
In 1929, the family moved to Chilliwack and settled on a farm on Banford Road. Bill married Linda Knapp on June 27, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They lived in West Vancouver until they moved to Chilliwack in 1944, where Bill helped his father on the farm as well as held down a carpentry job.
Later, he went into business for himself as an electrician and plumber. Bill enjoyed his recreational vehicles which allowed Bill and Linda to travel south for the winters, camping and fishing with their many friends. Bill always looked forward to these outings.
Bill accepted the Lord at a young age and was faithful in his Christian walk.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, sisters Gertrude and Esther, brothers Milton, Ezra and Lorne and great-granddaughter Kianna. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Linda of 68 years as well their four daughters, Darlene (Al) Toews, Audrey (Jack) McDonald, Norene (Garry) Penner and Shirley (Jim) Soldan, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Dan (Clara) and sister in law, Wanda.
Viewing will be at Henderson’s Funeral Home on Monday, November 29th, 2010 from 6:30-8:00 pm. There will be a private graveside service followed by a Memorial Service at the Chilliwack Alliance Church on Tuesday, November 30th at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideons.
