“Bill”

William “Bill” Dawes passed away peacefully on November 1, 2009 at Chilliwack, BC at the age of 51 years. Bill was a devoted father and loving family man. He was a great teacher and mentor to all. Although he could be impatient and argumentative, he was always there to help. Bill was very frugal but the most generous man with his heart. He was strong willed and stubborn which helped him over come many of life’s challenges. As Bill guided his children through life on earth and he will continue to from afar. We hope you are now eating all the lobster and dancing with all the women you wished for. You will be greatly missed by all; the world has truly lost a great man.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lori; his children, Shannon (Andy) Harvey, Katie and Dean; his mother, Wilma; sisters, Diane Coughlin (Carl DeKelver), Edna (Dan) Ambrose and Janet Stevenson (Ken Mattern); his nieces and nephews; He is also survived by his father in law, Jim Sedgewick; brothers in law, Don Sedgewick and Terry (Kelly) Sedgewick. Bill was sadly predeceased by his father Frederick Francis Anthony Dawes, infant son Wade William Fredrick Dawes and his beloved dog, Tanya. We will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack.

Bill had faith that one day there would be a cure for spinal cord injury through stem cell research. In that light, donations in memoriam and honor of William Dawes would be appreciated to the “Rick Hansen Foundation” for spinal cord research, 300-3820 Cessna Dr., Richmond, BC V7B 0A2 .
