William (Bill) Engel was born in Yorkton, Sask. on November 23, 1923 and passed away March 8, 2004 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of80.
He is survived by his loving wife Edna of 58 years; his children, Connie (Gerald) Blenkarn, Bob (Lisa) Engel, and Debbie (Tony) VanLaerhoven; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; twin sister Elsie (John); brother Charlie (Effie); sisters, Felada, Rose, and Vilma (Wally); brother Alec (Violet); sister-in-law Frieda Engel; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Predeceased by his father Karl; his mother Katherine; and brothers, Jack and Donald.
Bill and his family moved from Rhein, Sask. to the Chilliwack area and worked at the Agassiz Research Station for 33 years, and retired in Agassiz.
Memorial services to be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Charles St., Chilliwack at 2 p.m., March 12, 2004.
