It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our kind-hearted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, on Friday, Dec. 8, 2006.
Bill was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Feb. 19, 1934, son of Clive and Mary Thompson.
He ventured west in 1961 with wife Thelma and children, two cats and a dog. From his arrival in B.C. to the day of his passing, Bill worked exceptionally hard to provide for his family and enjoyed life.
He always laughed hard, voice his opinion loud, and was never a burden to anyone, and always had a joke ready to make someone laugh.
His generous heart in the end could not even sustain him. He will be greatly missed and certainly not forgotten by family and all, and particularly his best friend, Fred, who enjoyed many hours and good times with Bill “around the fire” and working on wood projects.
He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma, and sisters Mildred and Myrtle. He is survived by sons: Kim, Ron (Jude), Howard (Mary); daughters: Lana (John), Leah (Jerry), Gayle (Ray), Sherrill (Ernie); sister: Ruth; and brothers: Russ and Jim.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 at 11:00 am at Skowkale Hall, 7686 Chilliwack River Road, Chilliwack.
