MITCHELL, Wayne (Bruce)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of (Bruce) Wayne Mitchell, after a year long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully on April 15, 2017 surrounded by his wife Edith, children Tanya and Todd, their spouses Norm and Shari, and grandchildren Jenna and Hunter. Wayne was born in Vancouver, eldest child of Charles and Dorothy Mitchell. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his five siblings: Dale, Susan, Don, Rick and Heather, their spouses, brother-in-law John and spouse, and a large, loving extended family. Wayne entered the military in 1969, and during the next 22 years served as MP, and MSE OP in Petawawa, CFB Toronto, CFS Holberg, and CFB Chilliwack. After the Military, Wayne ran Wayne's Fast Auto, where he was known as a generous and loyal business owner who was well respected in the lower mainland. He also had a large and generous heart and considered his large group of friends to be part of his family. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers or condolences to the BC Cancer Society and the Diabetes Association in Wayne's name. A celebration of Wayne's life will be on Sunday, May 21st at 1 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #280 5661 Vedder Rd, Chilliwack.
