Walter Harold Regier passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at Chilliwack, BC at the age of 87 years. He was born September 25, 1918 at Liard, SK. Walter is survived by wife Lily, daughter Marthea (Jim) Farrell; son David Smith of Victoria, grandsons David (Mary) Casey, James Smith and Kenneth Smith; grand-daughter Kristen (Shane) O’Connor, Karen Smith, and Jean Smith; great grandsons Cole O’Connor and Kieran Casey; sisters Agnes Ewert, Johanna Voigt, Irma Nickel, Paula Dyck, Bernice Regier, Verna (Abe) Klassen, and Wilma (C.J.) Dyck; brothers Donald (Mary) Regier, Victor (Sarah) Regier; and sister-in-law Mary Friesen Regier. He is predeceased by brothers Peter & Tina Regier, Erwin & Selma (2nd wife) Regier, Adella Regier, Harold Regier and John W. Regier; sisters Frieda & Willie Dueck, Edith and Frank Bergmann, and Anna & Erwin Fast. A Memorial Service was held on Sunday, November 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home; Major Angus Haggarty officiating. Reception followed at the Masonic Hall. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Walter’s memory may be made to the Chilliwack Hospital Foundation.
