Walter E. (Butch) Howes, born in Vancouver, BC, passed away Dec. 8, 2002 at the age of 57 with his family at his side.
Butch is survived by his wife Catherine (Betty), daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Robert (Bob) Kerr of Victoria and granddaughter, Jasmine.
He is also survived by his mother, Mary Howes; sisters and brothers-in-law Lynda and Jack Pyatt of Burnaby, Beverly and Dale Woody of Spokane, WA; mother-in-law Maysil Watt of Abbotsford; and brothers-in-law William (Bill) Watt of Houston, Phillip and Rosanne Watt of Quesnel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His father, Ridley Howes, predeceased Butch in 1996.
Butch and his family are very grateful for all those who gave prayers and support. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at palliative care and hospice for their kindness and special care. We also thank those friends who assisted with Butch’s home care and who have been great sources of strength to all of us.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Road, Abbotsford, BC on Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Abbotsford-Matsqui Hospice Society.
