W. Keith Jackson

November 1, 1931 - December 25, 2006

Keith passed away peacefully in Penticton Regional Hospital after a ten-month struggle with the effects of a stroke.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Gerrie; five adult children and six grandchildren; Lane (Vivian) of North Battleford, Holly (Jim) Littleford of Vancouver, BC, Kevin of Victoria, Heather of Penticton, BC and Darby of Victoria, BC. Keith’s grandchildren are; Andrew, Michael and Stephen Littleford (Holly), Taryn and Emily Jackson (Lane) and Ashley Jackson (Kevin); his brother Ed (Marje) of Vancouver; sister, Margie of Saskatoon and sister-in-law; Norma Taylor (George) of Penticton also mourn his passing.

Keith was predeceased by his father, Wilf, mother, Mia and brother, Bill.

Keith was well loved, liked and respected and will be remembered always by those who knew him. He was a proud athlete with the completion of five marathons and ten years of BC Senior Games participation. Keith was a medal winner in both tennis and track & field. As an alumnus of the Univ. of Sask. (BA) and UBC (Social Work), he served ten years in the RCAF and 25 more years with the Indian Affairs and DREE.

He always contributed to the community in which he and his family lived. These include Montreal, Moose Factory, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Prince George, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack and Penticton. His works include; canvassing for the BC Cancer Fund, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army, OSNS, Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, reading to school children, Executive of the YMCA and BC Senior Games as well as the SPCA.

In Chilliwack he treasured the years he spent at the Cultus Lake United Church Camp as Papa Keith, their cook through the summers.

A Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held in April/07. Condolences can be mailed to the funeral home address or e-mailed directly to kejak10@telus.net
