Vivian Pawlitza passed away on February 13, 2008 at Cascade Lodge, Chilliwack, BC at age 91 years. She was born April 19, 1916 in Halifax, NS.

Vivian and her mother miraculously survived the Halifax Explosion in December 1917.

She is survived by her husband Albert “Joe” of 55 years; daughter, Dianne (Jerry) Karr; son, Arnold (Louise) Carey of Australia; step-daughter Ann (Jules) Jewra of Forest Grove, BC; and step-sons, Frank (Dale) Pawlitza and Ron (Shawn) Warner of Ontario; her grandchildren. Scott (Colleen) Karr, Leanne (Milton Brewer) Johnson, Alexis and Stephanie Carey, Darlene Jewra, Kerri (George) Eburne and Sam and Olivia Warner. Also survived by her beloved great-grandsons, Kristopher Johnson, Michael and Jason Karr, Alexander and Tyson Eburne; sisters, Vera Armstrong, Pat (Willie) Robertson and Ruby Johnson, many loving nieces and nephews, wonderful friends and her “chosen daughter” Roberta (Ron) Hadland and her dear little dog “Mitzi”.

Apart from her beloved family, friends and neighbours, Vivi loved her home, her garden and her little blue cabin overlooking Bedwell Bay, Belcarra, BC.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Chilliwack General Hospital and the loving care at Cascade Lodge.

A celebration of Vivi’s life will be held on March 15, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the “Little” Foresters Hall, 7194 Vedder Rd, Sardis BC. The family requests no flowers, please.
