Victoria (Vicie) Beatrice BLOW

Victoria (Vicie) Beatrice Blow passed away peacefully on Wed., July 16, 2003. Born in Princeton, B.C. June 24, 1912, Vicie grew up at “Sleepy Hollow”, Cultus Lake, B.C., where she met Ward Sharp, whose family operated Valley Laundry in Chilliwack. They were married June 26, 1929. Ward died in 1955 and Vicie went on to marry Chilliwack dairyman, Lyal Blow, in 1960. They moved to Penticton in 1966 where Lyal died in 1992. Vicie was also predeceased by sons Larry (1996) and Barrey (1991). Vicie’s happy spirit, loving heart and caring kindness will be remembered lovingly by daughters Muriel (Len) Carriere of Powell River, Maureen (George) Kascak of Penticton; son Alan (Linda) Blow of Cranbrook; grandchildren Phil, Dan and Rob Carriere; Geordie, Sean, Trevor and Byron Blow; Karri Flatla, and Dionne Blow; Lindsay and Lori Kascak; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S. A graveside service will be held at Chilliwack Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Vicie’s family wishes to thank Drs. John and David Surkan, the B.C. Ambulance personnel, and the many kind folks who have cared for her at Cherry Park Residence 1992-2002 and Trinity Care Centre.
