Vada passed away in the peace of her Lord in the Chilliwack Hospital on December 10, 2006. She was the beloved mother of son, Richard “Jim” (Sharon) Selfe of Sicamous; daughters, Lorraine (George) Armstrong of Rosedale, Corinne Simmons of Nanaimo, and Melissa (Ed) Woolrich of Prince George.
Vada was predeceased by her husband Rodric (1968), her father George (1933) and her mother Nora (1958); sisters, Agnes Bell, Cecilia Fulla, Hazel Nairne and Elvienna Hunter; brothers, baby George, Arthur and Ken; grandson Jamie Woolrich and great-grandson Jarrett Armstrong.
Vada is survived by her sisters Helen Parkin of Courtney and Grace (Al) Magrum of Nanaimo; brothers Howard (Stella) Babcock of Nanaimo, Hunter (Melisse) Babcock of Courtney; her much loved 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 36 nieces and nephews. We will miss her abiding faith, quick wit and sense of humour.
Family and friends are invited to gather at noon on December 19th at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave to process to the Chilliwack Cemetery on Little Mountain for a Graveside service. Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 pm at the Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Chapel. A Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SIDS in memory of great-grandson Jarrett Armstrong.
