Thomas Robert Sedgley GORMAN

January 2, 2009

Born Sep. 29/33 in Edmonton, Alberta. Grew up in Sanqudo, Alberta. Volunteered to serve in the Korean War as a teenager and after finishing his army tour of duty served on the Calgary City Police Force for 12 1/2 years.

He resigned in 1967 to go into private business. He owned an Alberta Real Estate Company for 20 years. In January 2008 he was notified by Veterans Affairs Canada that the group he was with in Korea sustained heavy losses from Korean Rice Paddy Cancer. At the same time he was diagnosed with his cancer and needed an immediate operation to remove his esophagus. This very unusual cancer took 55 years to show itself into the DNA System. In Korea all of the rice paddies are fertilized by gathering human excreta which naturally attached itself to the rice. Tom wants to thank his family, Carolyn his wife since 1975 for a wonderful life. His five chldren; Roger, Loretta, Llano (Sheila), Gregory and Steven, his five grandchildren and the Veterans Affairs Canada for all their exceptional support throughout this journey. On January 2/09 at 11:25 a.m., he lost his courageous battle and entered into peace with Jesus taking him into His loving arms. We shall meet again. We would like to thank Dr. James Bond and his team, Dr. Klimo and his chemo team, Dr. Lynch for her loving care, all the nurses and doctors at the Chilliwack General Hospital, ER and Unit 3 for all of their good care.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 at 1 PM from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8871 School St., Chilliwack, B.C. With interment to follow at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery, Watson Rd., Chilliwack, B.C.
