Tom Wearing passed into the presence of the Lord on November 7, 2003 at the age of 83 years. Tom was born at Trecombe Farm, Cornwall, England on October 11, 1920. He was the youngest of 13 children. Tom was in the merchant navy, then later he was in the Royal Navy during WWII. He married Joan Gale on October 24 1941. They had three children, Sandra, Barry and Dave. The family immigrated to Canada in 1952, settling in Comox, B.C. where another son Bill was born. Tom was a heavy equipment operator in Courtney. He later moved to Duncan, B.C. and was a general contractor. In 1971, the family moved to Greendale. Tom and Joan began attending Greendale M.B. Church and were baptized in 1973. The family later moved to Chilliwack and resided on Bernard Ave. Joan moved to Parkholm Lodge in later years and is now residing at Heritage Village. Tom is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Sandra (Ted) Munn; sons Barry, Dave (Jill), Bill (Brenda) all of Chilliwack. Grandchildren Jason Munn, Abbotsford, Melissa (Mike) Greenway, Chilliwack, and Jonathan Wearing, Greendale. Special thanks to Dr. Esmail for his wonderful care and support to Tom over the years.
