Thomas Alexander Joseph LEWIS

November 5, 2002

Tom was born in Chilliwack on September 27, 1949. He died peacefully from complications arising from the treatment of testicular cancer. Tom fought with fierce determination from beginning to end.

He is survived by his wife Alma; daughters, Heather and Aryn; sisters, Terry (Bob), Mary (Bill), and Cathy (Al); brother Dave; and step-mother Margaret Lundgren. Uncle Tom is survived by nieces and nephews, Andrea, Lynette, Tom, Carla, Burt, Dawn, Adam, and Tyler.

He was predeceased by his uncle and great friend, Frank Lewis.

Tom loved hunting and back-road expeditions. And then there was golf. It was more than just a game to him. He loved the challenge, the strategy, and the company of his friends.

Tom worked at the pulp mill for 35 years, starting out as a fire-cleaner and eventually becoming production superintendent. His commitment to his job carried on well after his workday was done. With characteristic determination he thrived on solving the complex problems that arose.

A gathering to remember Tom will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C. Cancer Foundation for Testicular Cancer Research - In Memory Department, 200-601 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 4C2 or www.bccancerfoundation.com
